We are back with the stats for the first six<br \/>\nmonths of 2015 and we are yet again delighted to see that it&#8217;s a big pay out for<br \/>\nbackground rights royalties.<\/p>\n<p>Independent artists are the very core on which Soundreef is<br \/>\nbuilt, our focus is to continue supporting them in ways that really make a<br \/>\ndifference: we get their music heard, and we make sure they\u2019re paid when their<br \/>\nmusic is played.<\/p>\n<p><b>Artists<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Soundreef works directly with independent artists \u2013 from<br \/>\nestablished acts to solo singer-songwriters who are just starting out \u2013 paying<br \/>\nthem to use their songs as background music in stores. 4,791 artists earned<br \/>\nroyalties during the 1<sup>st<\/sup> semester of 2015 24% of them earning from<br \/>\ntheir music for the first time. We also observed a 36% increase in the number<br \/>\nof artists with earnings from the first semester in 2015 compared to same<br \/>\nperiod of 2014 which is directly related to the growing number of authors who<br \/>\nhave decided to collect royalties with Soundreef. Our highest earning<br \/>\nindependent artist earned \u20ac4,874 during the first six months of the year for<br \/>\nbackground music rights.<\/p>\n<p><b>Content providers, publishers and record labels<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Soundreef also pays artists for their work via their<br \/>\nexisting content providers, publishers and record labels. During the 1<sup>st<\/sup><br \/>\nsemester of 2015 our highest earning content provider, publisher or record<br \/>\nlabel took home \u20ac 130,965 for their songs and with our highest earning small<br \/>\npublisher making \u20ac 8,671. The average earning for content providers, publishers<br \/>\nand record labels was \u20ac 40,639.<\/p>\n<p><b>The audience<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Soundreef now has a database of 200,000 songs adding on<br \/>\naverage nearly 20,000 songs each semester.
